Caprese burrata sandwich

Fresh summer sandwich with homemade pesto, burrata, and heirloom tomatoes

Steps

  1. 1Slice the bread

    Cut the baguette in half lengthwise and open it up.

    Ciabatta works too if you prefer a more open crumb.

    Generously spread the fresh pesto on the bottom half of the bread.

    Layer the arugula over the pesto.

    Slice the burrata into thick pieces and arrange them on top of the arugula.

    Sprinkle the burrata with red pepper flakes, flaky salt, and a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil.

    Slice the heirloom tomatoes thickly and layer them over the burrata.

    Drizzle the balsamic glaze generously over the tomatoes.

    Close the sandwich with the top half of the bread, press gently, and slice into portions.
