Perfect Classic Cinnamon Rolls

Pillowy soft, sticky, gooey cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting

Steps

  1. 1Prepare the dough

    Make the cinnamon roll dough in a stand mixer. The dough should be slightly sticky and tacky, but pulling away from the sides of the bowl.

  2. 2Let the dough rise45 min

    Let the dough rise in a warm environment for 30 to 45 minutes until doubled in size.

  3. 3Make the cinnamon filling

    Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together for the filling. For extra gooey rolls, double the filling portion.

    To make them extra gooey, double the filling and spread 1/4 of it on the bottom of the pan before adding the rolls. If you like them less sweet/gooey, use the standard amount.

  4. 4Prepare the pan

    Take about a quarter of the cinnamon filling and spread it evenly on the bottom of the baking pan.

    This step is optional if you prefer less gooey rolls.

  5. 5Fill and roll

    Roll out the dough, spread the remaining cinnamon filling over it, then roll up tightly and cut into individual rolls. Place in the prepared pan.

  6. 6Bake the rolls25 min

    Bake the cinnamon rolls until beautifully golden on the edges and bubbling.

  7. 7Make cream cheese frosting

    While rolls bake, mix cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar together until smooth and rich.

    The tangy cream cheese frosting melts perfectly into every swirl.

    Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls. Serve warm with a hot cup of coffee.
