Mayak Eggs with Rice
Jammy Korean-style marinated eggs served over warm rice

- 1Cook the rice
Prepare white rice according to package directions and keep warm.

Bring a pot of water to boil. Carefully add eggs and cook for 6-7 minutes for jammy yolks.
For perfectly jammy eggs, use room temperature eggs and start timing once the water returns to a boil.
Egg - 3Cool and peel eggs
Transfer eggs to an ice bath immediately. Once cooled, peel carefully.
Egg - 4Make the marinade
Mix soy sauce, water, sugar, chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and chili flakes in a bowl.
Adjust sugar and chili flakes to your taste preference.

Cut peeled eggs in half and place them in the marinade. Let sit for at least 15 minutes, spooning marinade over occasionally.
For deeper flavor, marinate for several hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

Place warm rice in a bowl, top with marinated egg halves, and spoon some of the marinade mixture over everything.
